A 32 year old female presents with a lump in her neck which is deemed to be of thyroid origin. It is giving her some problems with swallowing. Her thyroid function tests are normal and an ultrasound is arranged. A radionuclide uptake scan is organised and shows a cold nodule and her FNA is suspicious of follicular carcinoma. How would you manage this patient?
